The onion domes of Smethwick!

I decided the blog needed to spread it’s wings to other religious buildings in and around Brum, so after a morning shooting in the very pink “The Public” at West Brom, I happened to stumble across this little beauty. The Sikh temple is the first and biggest Gurdwara in the country, and it’s pretty striking when driving past.

It was a pretty contrasty shot due to the sun, and the sky was a lovely shade of blue, so I tried a little HDR effect, to capture both, but it didn’t really work as well as hoped – far to unrealistic colours (not that is always a bad thing!) – so a bit of magical desaturation and voilà!

Quite like the cool effect of the windows!
