The last abstract Tuesday!

This is a pretty amazing shot – how / why you may ask? It was done in pretty dim conditions with no flash, and with my previous equipment would have been almost unusable – the new camera coped pretty well both focusing and also generating a relatively noise free pic – (there is a bit, you can see from the out of focus areas there is a grainy texture to them, but nothing that can’t be lived with) and I turned the pic into a black and white shot for the artistic effect rather than to cover up the effects of shooting at a high ISO – honest!.

I don’t know why, but I’m really struggling for ideas on the run in to the end – I’d have thought it’d be relatively easy with the end in sight – but no, not as I’d hoped – I had in my mind a countdown themed few pictures, but that seems to have fallen by the wayside, and it’s probably a bit late to start now 🙂

Second to last Abstract Tuesday!

This was playing with the new camera functionality where I can control the external flash remotely – it worked well 🙂 Up until now when I’ve used the off camera flash I’ve had to physically fiddle around with the settings on both the camera and the flash to get the exposure right, but with the new camera control it does all the measurement and adjustments for me, and the exposure comes out correct!

Nice bit of purple 🙂

The return of abstract Tuesday!

These dark evenings are really getting me down – roll on the spring is what I say! But I won’t be doing a photo a day I don’t think, but you never know!

Tuesday’s back!

I’m not sure what happened here, the colour on the laptop looked significantly different to that which appears here, just a bit more lively for some reason 😦 Anyhoo, I still like the photo and it fits into the abstract theme set out for Tuesdays this year!

Can you tell what it is? The colour gives a clue to the pic if that’s any help 😉

The intention was to link some of the pictures I’d developed last night from the camera shown in today’s pic, but the evening seems to have disappeared in the blink of an eye, and the film remains hanging in the kitchen where I left it (and knowing me, may well stay there for the next week or two!!)

I’ll wait till the photos are scanned and posted before I waffle any more about it 😉

Is this abstract enough for a Tuesday??

I’ve always thought focus is an overrated aspect of photography 😉 And this one is certainly not in focus – but it was supposed to look like this as the focussed shots didn’t look half as good!

It’s a picture of the burner on the barbecue, if you were wondering – I quite like the colours!

In need of a stiff drink 😉

This is a close up of the evenings entertainment, part of the 5 litre cask of wine left over from the holiday (yes, we are that classy!), much needed after the second day of work this week (for some people anyway!) – it’s been a while since I’ve done two full days on the trot, and it’s really quite tiring it must be said – quite what I’ll be like at the end of the week is anyone’s guess – not a pretty site I’m sure 😉

Only 101 days to go – that needs celebrating I’d have thought!?

Oil be back!

The blog goes on a two week vacation tomorrow night as we head south to Dover to meet up with a ferry bound for France – from there who knows, as nothing has been decided, but have camera(s) will travel! It’ll be a similar thing to The Little Trip 2009 but we’ll be looking at going somewhere different, but as long as it’s not work and there is a foreign supermarket nearby, I don’t mind 🙂

It’s all been a bit fraught these last few days – I noticed a fuel leak from the van a couple of days ago, and it required a fair bit of phoning around, some help from a lovely firm up in Yarkshire to supply a new tank (at a fifth of the price of Mr Fiat ) and some re-arranging of work at the local garage – fortunately for me all the planets aligned and the van is now sat outside the house, primed and ready to go, but it really was cutting it fine – if I had any hair, I’m sure I’d have lost it 😉 On top of that work has been hectic, the holiday couldn’t come at a worse time (or is that a good time??), and P has been working crazy hours – we’re both worn out and in need of a rest – we may just have to park up in Cite Europe, the huge shopping centre in Calais, purchase our body weight in croissant and wine and stop there for a few days to recover – sounds like a pretty good plan to me!

Photos will be taken, but there will be a delay, and I probably wont write a passage for every day, but you never can tell.

See you in two weeks!

Flamin’ flowers!

Well it almost looks like it 🙂 The abstract Tuesday Rudbeckia combination seems to have worked – who’d have thought it eh? I’m quite pleased with this shot, although this is the second attempt as the first shots weren’t clear enough – I even had to go get the tripod out! It wasn’t plain sailing either as the wind suddenly popped up just to annoy, :), and I got bitten on the foot to boot – how I suffer for my art!

What to do tomorrow…
