It’s supposed to be spring, but it feels more like winter 😦

I would have done more shots to make a bigger collage, but it’s really rather cold outside, and the sky was overcast and dull, so you’ll have to make do with just the 6! The main Tulip photos stands out by itself and was nearly the photo of the day on its own – but I though I’d make the effort, after all, it is only Wigan on the telly! Typically for the bank holiday – I have the time, I even have transport, but the weather is yak – I think I may have to spend the rest of the evening under the blanket 😉

It’s another of my TTV assemblies – I do like it – maybe next year, all my photos will be like this!

It’s sunny and it’s warm!

With P being away, and half inching the car to boot, my photo opportunities have to come within a relatively short range from the house – the park has been done to death for the moment so I hopped on the bike and headed over to that fun place – Yardley Cemetery.

It’s a strange one – due to ‘health and safety’ a large proportion of the gravestones have been toppled, so much of the area looks very sorry for itself, depressing even as cemeteries go, but fortunately for me a fair few angel type headstones still remain – they always draw me in for some reason, and today was no exception. I did a three camera expedition, digital, TTV contraption and film – I think anyone watching would have thought it was a care in the community day trip, but at least this time I wasn’t rolling around on the floor!

The TTV ones worked particularly well, and so make it to today’s picture 😀

I never really thought that curry could be detrimental to ones creative juices, but following some questionable experimentation I am wondering if this is now true…

Feeling rather devilish, we decided to go out for ‘lunch’ to a local eaterie – it promised an all-you-can-eat buffet consisting of Indian, Chinese and Italian food – what more could you want?

It didn’t look promising initially, a solitary car in the deserted car park, but we braved it and entered. It turned out to be really rather nice – the Chinese and Italian sections were really rather limited (a pizza and some spring rolls :)) but the Indian food was delish.

To cut a long story short, I may have slightly over indulged, and as a result, just felt like mooching in front of the telly for the rest of the day – thoughts of photography buried in some curry induced recess of the brain. Fortunately I snapped out for long enough to take a couple of shots of P wrapped in the duvet.

This one is another TTV shot – it was a toss up between two other shots, but there was nothing really in it 1 2

Into town tomorrow though!

It’s Friday, so it must be good – the weekend is here and the sun was out when I got home (via the post office – I was expecting a parcel, but received a sack – it was an interesting ride home 🙂 I had a couple of new toys in said sack, so I wasn’t too upset)

The sun has made its way to the garden and the first signs are that Spring is round the corner. Today’s photo is a collage of  TTV pics – I’d like to say the idea was mine, but alas, I nicked it from a much more talented photographer called Thonk! (I’m not sure if he’s actually called that, but you know what I mean) – he did a whole year Through the Viewfinder project365 , respect! I did suffer for my art though – lying down on the lawn wasn’t a pleasant experience and I got really rather wet!

It looks good though, and I was happy with it – I’ve always liked TTV, so expect more in the coming year. Have a good weekend 🙂

A day of both sunlight and moonlight 🙂

I was up before the lark this morning – assistant P had a day off from sitting in the car and waiting for me, and was off with Annie (hello!) at some ungodly hour – the moon was out, as was Mars, and I was dragged out of bed kicking and screaming to take some pictures. It was harder than I thought, but you can see both the moon and Mars, so job done 😀

With daylight came sunlight, so to make the most of it I drove off to Warwick – it’s a fab little place, with some really picturesque little spots, and a wonderful old postbox which may well feature in a future episode of project 365 – I wont say too much at this moment but P had better polish up her climbing skills 😉

This is another through the viewfinder shot – I’d modified the setup (trade secret ;)) in the morning and the pictures worked a treat – very happy!

I’m wondering if the newly introduced ‘numbers’ theme is slightly cheesy, so maybe I’ll lay off it for a while, but I think maybe I’ll try and pop in the odd one here and there – maybe I should have a test at the end of the year 😉

This is one of the (many) cameras I have cluttering up the house that I’ve yet to put a film through, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel, as I may be getting my film scanner back, hurrah and about time is all I can say! I still have film from the summer that although developed is hidden away for no-one to be bored rigid by – this will all change 😀

Despite not using it for film, it has not been sat idle as it was used to take this and this particular shot utilises some of the strobist tips I’ve been reading up on during my lunch hour (and boring P with during tea) – some of the more observant of you may notice my colour temperatures aren’t balanced, well, for you I have one thing to say:

hello!

Why did I ever think it’d be fun to take a photo a day – the pressure is just too much 👿 🙂

Saturdays are supposed to be relaxing and fun, but this particular shot has turned out to be on the wrong side of fraught and stressful, and it’s only a picture of a chuffin’ stuffed cat! (Oh – sorry Pat!) The daylight ran out and the photo hadn’t been taken, so I had quickly set up a mini studio in the front room and try out a bit of off-camera flash photography – I guess the beginnings of strobism.

The picture is also taken using a style called “through the viewfinder” where a digital camera is used to take a photo through an old Kodak Brownie type camera’s viewfinder – it gives a quirky out of focus effect, and in this particular case has the cross hairs visible – not the best I’ve taken, and a bit rushed – maybe I’ll get time tomorrow…..
